Duffy Wants Candymen To Continue Strong Finish Against Rovers

Duffy wants Candymen to continue strong finish against Rovers.

Darlington manager Alun Armstrong says he wants his team to show greater consistency if they are to end the season on a high against Bristol Rovers.

The Candymen head to the Memorial Stadium on Saturday looking to build on their midweek win over Stockport County, which ended a run of five games without a victory.

However, despite their upturn in form, Darlington remain in the League Two relegation zone and need to start putting together a run of positive results if they are to avoid the drop.

Armstrong knows that his team must improve their away form if they are to have any chance of survival.

Darlington have won just twice on their travels all season and have conceded 35 goals in their 18 away games.

Armstrong said: "We need to be more consistent, especially away from home. We've shown in recent weeks that we can compete with the best teams in the league, but we need to do it on a more regular basis.

"We've got a tough game against Bristol Rovers on Saturday, but we're going there to win. We need to show the same level of performance that we did against Stockport and if we do that, I'm confident that we can get a positive result."

Darlington will be without the suspended Joe Wheatley for the trip to Bristol Rovers, while Luke Trotman is a doubt with a hamstring injury.
