“Road to Kingdom: Ace of Ace” contestants hold press conference on the day of the show’s premiere
Seven boy groups, including Pentagon, ONF, Golden Child, The Boyz, VERIVERY, ONEUS, and TOO, attended the event
On June 18, seven boy groups competing in Mnet’s upcoming reality show “Road to Kingdom: Ace of Ace” held a press conference to celebrate the show’s premiere.
“Road to Kingdom” is the male version of last year’s girl group competition “Queendom,” following the same format of having seven groups perform original songs and covers of other groups’ songs in a series of elimination rounds.
The seven groups who attended the press conference were Pentagon, ONF, Golden Child, The Boyz, VERIVERY, ONEUS, and TOO. When asked why they decided to join “Road to Kingdom,” Pentagon’s leader Hui said, “We wanted to show our growth, and we’re also curious about how far we can go with our limits.”
One of the main reasons fans are excited for “Road to Kingdom” is the participation of Pentagon and ONF, as the two groups were rivals on the second season of Mnet’s “Produce 101.” When asked about their reunion, Pentagon’s Hongseok said, “It’s been a long time since we’ve seen each other after ‘Produce 101,’ so it feels good to meet again.”
ONF’s Hyojin added, “I can’t hide my excitement about being able to perform on the same stage as the other groups,” while The Boyz’s Sunwoo shared, “‘Road to Kingdom’ will be a good opportunity for us to prove that we’re a group that’s worth watching.”

Pentagon is a South Korean boy group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2016. The group consists of nine members: Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Yan An, Yuto, Kino, and Wooseok.
