University of Pittsburgh Volleyball Continues Hot Start to Season with Sweep of Notre Dame
The University of Pittsburgh volleyball team continued its hot start to the season on Wednesday night with a sweep of Notre Dame at the Petersen Events Center. The Panthers won in straight sets, 25-21, 25-18, 25-20.
Pitt improved to 8-1 on the season, while Notre Dame fell to 5-4. The Panthers have now won five straight matches.
Pitt was led by senior outside hitter Kayla Lund, who had a match-high 14 kills.
Lund also added 10 digs for a double-double. Junior middle blocker Sabrina Starks added 12 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Valeria Vasquez had 11 kills.
Pitt hit .323 as a team, while Notre Dame hit .200. The Panthers also had a 40-27 advantage in digs and a 10-5 advantage in blocks.
